I have directed the Summer intensive partial immersion Japanese language program in Virginia through 2017 to 2021. The program is for rising junior and senior high school students in Virginia. The program is a very competitive one that the students are selected based on their essays, recommendation letters from their school and their can-do statement. The Japanese program offers all the levels of proficiency yet French, Spanish, German and Latin program requires two years of Target Language experience requires.

I always create a theme of the year and left image is the design of the logo in 2021. Since it was an online format, one of the challenge was to unite the students as a community of Japanese language and culture. 唯一無二 (Yuiitsu Muni) means "The one only". I deliver the message to the students to respect themselves as well as they respect others during the program to unite and become one!

Virginia Department of Education offers five foreign language academies. Spanish, French and German is full immersion program hosted at Washington & Lee University. Japanese and Latin are partial immersion program hosted at Randolph-macon College. To apply for a teacher's position, click the image to find out more information.
