Therapy is provided in various parts of the school environment, allowing students the opportunity for peer modeling and participating in skills in inclusive environments. However, when a student who requires quiet areas to work or a place to work on motor or sensory breaks, there is a therapy area in most of the buildings, available for therapy staff and support services staff to use with students.
Positioning is very crucial to some student's day and our school district provides ample opportunities for children to change position with various pieces of equipment if they require this. Equipment may also needed to help children fully access their school environment in classroom, PE or recess. The Physical therapists works closely with the occupational therapy staff to make sure that any of the adapted equipment that a student might need is fitted properly to the students and teachers and staff and instructed on its use.
