中学校の日本語クラス最後のプロジェクトとして、モントレー市のプロモーションビデオをつくりました。観光業がメインのモントレー市はこの一年間観光客が激減し大打撃を受けました。早く多くの人に訪れてもらえますように・・。

In this unit, students created The City of Monterey promotional video. Our city was greatly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic since we depend on tourism. The students created these videos hoping for many tourists to visit Monterey again.

2019年ごろから、Youtubeで「Vlog」(ビデオとブログを合わせた言葉）ビデオを目にすることが多くなりました。2020年、コロナウイルスの影響で一時的に学級閉鎖になった日本の中高生の毎日のルーティンを紹介するVlogがYoutubeに急増！

一年たった今でも登校できず、オンライン授業を受けているコルトンの生徒たちも毎日のルーティンVlog作ってみよう！と言うことで皆頑張って、楽しくVlogビデオを作成しました。学期末のアンケートで生徒の90％が「楽しかった」と回答したプロジェクト、提出された作品は力作揃いでした。

In this unit, students applied their knowledge of Japanese teenagers' popular Youtube genre "My Daily Routine" Vlog, and create their own Vlog. Some of them actually uploaded their Vlog to Youtube!

オンライン授業でずっと家にいると、運動不足、不健康な生活になりがち。より良い生活習慣と心の健康を目指して、「より健康で幸せな、新しい私になる宣言」のビデオ・ポスタープレゼンテーションをしました。

In this unit, students learned some Japanese students' everyday routines and explored how to change their lifestyles ones which will make them happier. Some students have already established very healthy & happy daily routines, but they've tried to modify them to even better ones!

カリフォルニア州は2020年、コロナウイルスのパンデミックに加え、大規模な火災で大きな被害を被りました。これからカリフォルニアに来る日本の方達も、これを用意しておけばきっと役立つはず！という「防災セット」を考えて自分の防災セットのプレゼンテーションをしました。

In this unit, students learned how Japanese people prepare for natural disasters. After that, they applied the knowledge and designed their own "disaster preparation kit" for Japanese visitors who will come to visit Monterey or California in the future (after Covid-19 pandemic is over!).
