「アメリカ人」にどんなイメージがありますか？コルトン中学校には様々な文化背景を持つ生徒がいます。既存の「アメリカ人のステレオタイプ」を覆すかもしれない？生徒たちの自己紹介です。

In this unit, the students learned how stereotypes negatively affect their image. They also learn how to break away from these in order to show how diverse “Americans” are.

教室では簡単にできる各生徒のスピーキングの進度チェックですが、オンライン授業ではLingtと言うツールを使って行いました。録音した私の声を聞いて、生徒が適切なリスポンスを録音して提出します。Lingtは宿題でも大活躍！

Students listened to my voice and responded accordingly. Speaking progress check is definitely easier when we meet face-to-face, but we've learned to be creative!

中学校に入学してから日本語を習い始めた生徒たちの、初めてのビデオメッセージです。学校閉鎖が続いていますが、週2回のオンライン授業を受けて頑張って練習しています。日本のみなさん、はじめまして ！どうぞよろしく。

In this unit, students learned how to introduce themselves in culturally appropriate way. They had never studied Japanese before!
