Hello Adams' Tigers!
Our staff worked so hard this summer to prepare for an amazing year of learning for all of our students and I am so proud of what I am seeing in each and every one of our classrooms! I want to give a special thank you to our fabulous office staff who had to move twice over the summer into a makeshift office and then back to the real office because of the construction at probably our busiest time of the school year - the first week of school! We are steadily getting the office situated and we have very much appreciated the patience and support of everyone around us during this time.
Speaking of patience - I know pick-up and drop-off requires a lot of patience and I very much appreciate all of our families that are helping us with that. Our number one goal at dismissal is to get everyone on and off campus as safely as possible. We ask that you please follow the directions of our staff and stay up to date on procedures so that we can do this. If you are having an issue/concern/suggestion - please set up an appointment instead of stopping staff during dismissal as this slows down our whole process. The biggest confusion we are seeing is that there are separate gates we release students from however, one is for parents who are in their cars and the other two are for parents who walk up (the West gate is for kindergarten only). The southeast gate is 1st -6th grade parent walk-up. We do NOT want any parents walking up to the other gate as we are trying to get the students safely into cars from the south gate and the extra people who are congregating around that area are making that process take longer than it should. Also, we are starting new procedures for kindergarten dismissal only. If you have a kindergartener - please make sure you read the messages they have sent out about their kindergarten only dismissal procedures. I am also providing an updated version of the dismissal procedures for 1st -6th grades. If you have ANY questions about these procedures - please contact your child's teacher or the front office! I promise if we all work together on this - it will get better!
Thank you as always for your support!😁

Tiger Families,
Welcome back to the 2021-2022 school year! I LOVED seeing so many happy faces at Meet The Teacher. School is now in full swing and students seem to like the new office design/remodel. I am the schools 504 coordinator again this year if you have any 504 needs/questions please ask.
I am just so excited for the new year and having some of our normal routine back.
If you have staff you would like to appreciate, I can be reached via email at hrchang@mpsaz.org. I would love to send them a happy message from the community!
Thank you, Hollie Chang
Parents: Please take the time to read these Monthly Newsletters. They include lots of great tips to help your child at home.
Please read the What's Title I Newsletter and Parent's Right to Know
All lunches are free BUT we REALLY need you to fill out this form to help Adams get more Title 1 funding. PLEASE fill out this short Free and Reduced Meal Program form today.
If you send your child to school with a lunch from home, please help our cafeteria staff by making sure your child knows how to open the items in their lunch. If they haven't quite figured out how to for instance poke the straw into the Capri-Sun please help them learn at home or send them with something else - or they can always get a milk at school instead - a water bottle is even better this time of year 😅
The zip code of 85202 is currently at almost 19% positivity for COVID, and in the Red category, or "High Transmission". While mask wearing is voluntary at this time, we do recommend that our students wear one inside, since they are mostly too young for COVID vaccinations. If you have not received a vaccination yet, we highly recommend that you do so, as this is the best way to keep our children safe at this time. While those that are vaccinated can still occassionally contract the Delta variant and spread it to others, the likelihood of
severe illness and hospitalization is very low. The fewer people that are vaccinated, the more that this virus will continue to mutate, until we have variants that the vaccine won't work on. You can get the vaccine for free at most pharmacies, through a doctor's office, or the county immunization clinics. The Pfizer vaccine is close to being approved by the FDA, and hopefully will be approved for use in younger children in a few months.
Also, please keep your child home if they have any symptoms of a cold or stomach symptoms, and consider getting them tested for COVID. If they are tested and are negative, they can then return to school, even if they have mild symptoms left. If symptoms occur while they are at school, and we are not aware that they have a chronic condition such as asthma, students will be sent home for 10 days or until I have seen their negative COVID test result. You can get them tested at MCC through embrywomenshealth.com/testing-blitz if necessary, and the results are usually back in 24-48 hours. *** If a student is exposed to someone that has tested positive for COVID, they will need to quarantine for 10 days, even with a negative test. Please call me or email me to let me know if this happens, or if you have any questions about COVID, vaccinations, or testing. My number is 480-472-4365. Kris Wiemann, RN
