Science

Right now in science the learning targets are:

• I can utilize science practices to make sense of natural phenomena and solve problems that require understanding how living systems interact with the biotic and abiotic environment.

• I can answer the question: What happens to ecosystems when the environment changes?

So far in this project we were able to look under a microscope and we learned how to create our own specimen slides out of a basel leaf, nail polish and tape. This was a very fun project and it was fun to draw what we created. We also have learned a lot about photosynthesis and here is a link to what the rubric was. Poster project. I have not finished my project quite yet but I am working very hard to get a good grade. Also in science we have begun doing a project on elk in west virginia. We got to have a cool link that allows us to change the ecosystem that the elk would live in. You could change the land that they had, the bunny population, the wolf population, the elk population, the weather, and the amount of food given. We decided to change the amount of wolves in the ecosystem. We put 10 wolves into the ecosystem and the population was kept in shape and there was not too much of one animal then the other.  

In science we have been doing a lot from one pagers, photosynthesis, CER paragraphs to project reflections and ad campaign posters.
