In science we are learning about the rock lairs in are region and soon we will be doing an exhibition on this project. My goal for science is to give useful feedback (specific, feasible)
We also recreated the process of rock erosion with starbursts. First we were Given three Starbursts, then we cut them up into small pieces representing sediment, then we mashed them together and created Sedimentary rock. Then We put the sedimentary rock in a Bag and then put it in a cup filled with hot water. This represented the rock Turning into magma then we took it out and let it cool into rock. Then we took our creation and put it under a hot iron and pushed down This represented it turning into metamorphic rock. After the starburst is Rock pool our creation was done then we cut it back up into sediment and we were able to do it all over again.
In Science we are learning all about Tectonic plates. We have done many experiments, one being moving plate tectonics to create tasty mountains with graham crackers and frosting. We made this by taking two graham crackers and pushing them down and away from each other on frosting and we made the frosty Himalayan Mountains ha ha ha.
I researched Zion national park and found out that is is primarily made up as Navajo sand stone. this creates it's amazing rock structures.
For the grades I got for the geology bit I got a meets a meets and an approaching. We made a rock layer project with all the rock layers in our area. We completed this task with clay ,canva and research. This was a Extremely hard and annoying task Because the clay kept falling off the board and getting destroyed ,but in the end it all worked out. What I will take away from this exhibition is the research I did and the team work skills that I learned during this project.
space exhibition
Hi I am Cody Espeland and I just finished my science exhibition. One example of my best work was the facts and model. I feel like that's what I did really well on, in my exhibition. One thing that I think I could have improved on is being more ready and really set in stone because when we were planning the exhibition I thought we were going to do all these cool simulations and what is it like to be on jupiter. But when the exhibition was just around the corner we weren’t ready so I was all hurry scurry on trying to get things ready but before I knew it the exhibition was today. So I had to improvise witch I think is one of my strong suites so I pushed through it and I did it I got a meets and that is my science exhibition reflection thank you.
environmental action plan
Hi I’m Cody Espeland and I have just recently finished my science exhibition and it was about environmental issues. The environmental issue I chose was the great pacific garbage patch. One way my understanding of environmental issues evolved was the cause of these problems and what we can do to help. It really helped me get that grasp on what the planet is dealing with. For my action plan on this exhibition was to make a poster to post around school asking for donations. After we got some donations we donated it to a non-profit organization so they could clean up the ocean for us since we do not live near the beach. Also I did a lemonade stand that was not very successful and I made stickers to sell and sold some of those. And when I was doing this me and my buddy had different jobs. One of my jobs was to do all the writing and one of his jobs was to create the poster for our action plan and both of us did the pre-approval doc. One big obstacle that we ran into while making our exhibition was when I broke my arm. It was really hard to adjust but we pushed through and did it. I feel really good about the Effort I put into this project because something I am really proud of is the slides that I made because even with a broken arm I was able to do everything I needed to do on time which is awesome.
