Welcome home! That's something we say a lot around here at Mountain Christian Church. We love being a place where people can find a home, a community, a church family. We, the production team, are a small part of that family. We are really glad you're here! Below you'll find the process we use to bring new folks onto the Abingdon Production Team.
If you're interested please email our Production Director, Justin. justinleblanc@mountaincc.org and fill out this quick form!
Let someone know you want to serve! The best thing to do is stop by the booth at the end of a service or talk with one of the greeters. They can point you in the right direction. You can also email our Production Director directly (justinleblanc@mountaincc.org) and fill out this quick form!
Even if you don’t know what position you want to start on, we can figure that out later, just let us know you want to serve! Don’t worry, you don’t have to have any technical skill whatsoever, we’ll provide all the training you need to be successful at your position.
The Production Director will either talk with you after service or give you a call sometime during the following week. In this discussion we’ll figure out a time to train you and a good weekend to start. We'll also get some details like a good email, address for you and get you set up on Planning Center Live (PCO).
After the follow up conversation expect a set up email from Planning Center Online (PCO). What is Planning Center Online?
This email should ask you to set your password. This is what we use to schedule staff, volunteers, services, etc. Please enter whatever details you want on your profile. If you add your cell phone number you can receive text updates when you’re put on the schedule.
Once you’re set up on Planning Center (PCO) you’ll be put on the schedule with an experienced team member who can train you. You’ll receive a scheduling email from PCO where you can either confirm or decline the schedule request. Please reply quickly! =)
If you’re scheduled for Sunday, July 15th and Monday July 16th, we ask new trainees to come in on the Thursday before, in this case July 12th. “Call time,” the time you’re expected to arrive ready to go. For Thursday nights the call time is 6:30pm. “Cut time,” when we’re done for the evening, is 8:30pm. Thursday nights are rehearsal nights. At 6:30, you’ll arrive, meet your trainer, and get a quick tour of the booth, stage, and backstage. Then you’ll spend the majority of the night with the trainer getting to know the equipment. This is the time to be hands on, push buttons, and learn the equipment. So when Sunday comes you’re ready to learn the flow of things. Oh! And you also get a sweet Mountain Worship t-shirt to wear on Sunday!
Before Services: Wear your Mountain Worship t-shirt! Call time is 6:30am. Bring coffee and you probably want to eat something before coming, even though there are keurigs available and someone brings food during the 8:05 service.
During Services: You’ll work with the trainer in a “watch,” “help,” “do” method. First service you’ll watch the trainer, second service you’ll help the trainer, third service you’ll probably be doing the position on your own with the trainer as a backup/safety net. Don’t worry, if you aren’t ready we won’t put you in a position to fail! This is for your sake and ours. Remember, unless it’s an unusual situation, most techs scheduled for Sunday are also on Monday night as well. Call time for Monday night is 6:00pm.
After services: Circle up with your trainer and the Production Director. How did things go?
If you’re ready after a weekend of training, then welcome to the team! Usually Justin will send out a brief email with a welcome note to the team to let them know you’re joining!
Sometimes a position is very complicated or it just takes a little longer to get the hang of something. That’s not a bad thing at all! If that happens, we’ll schedule some more training and get you up to speed in no time!
