Camera 1 is located on the column in the left 1/3 of the house. It's used for walk-up shots and baptisms.
Camera 2 is located almost directly above the camera control position at front of house. It's the workhorse and is used for almost every other shot.
Camera 3 is located as a mirror of camera 1 on the column in the right aisle.
This PTZ Controller and reference monitor comprise the camera control position. In the booth it's between lighting and production director. There you'll also find a laminated chart to log which preset corresponds to each shot for the weekend. You'll learn more about all of these things later on in this training!
On the left side of the camera station you'll see a laminated sheet of paper. We use a dry erase marker (there are a couple in the mug to the right!) to put what's on each preset. For example, for camera 2, shot 42 (normally notated 2:42) if that's a single shot of Sarah, perhaps for Communion, write "Sarah." You could also write "S/Communion" or "Sarah/1." Something to depict what that preset is used for.
