Year 1 and 2 were invited to take part in our third round of making...
Being our youngest makers, we spent each session learning a new skill that could be used in a larger-scale project later on.
Our first session focused on how to mould and shape clay. We also experimented with equipment such as patterned rolling pins and clay carving tools to add different textures.
Our second session moved onto making 'pinch pots'. After learning the joining technique of 'score, slip, press and compress' they added features to their pots to turn them into little monsters.
For many of them, this was their first go at using joining and texture techniques. We were very impressed with their designs!
