After our makers submitted their model bow and arrows, the judging panel selected their work to be shown in the INSPIRE 2020 exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum! They faced tough competition against other schools in the county but the judges were particularly impressed with their model-making skills and the progress they had made since their first round of making.
Lana, Eva, Shaam, Jess, Kyla, Ms Dalby and Ms Lilley were taken on a ‘behind the scenes tour’ of the Fitzwilliam Museum, and watched the exhibition being installed. They had a chance to prepare their artwork by doing a ‘condition check’ and writing ‘display labels’. They thought about how to advertise the exhibition to the public and had a chance to produce additional artwork in relation to the painting.

We were then invited to a special exhibition opening to see our models on display...
INSPIRE 2020 ran from December 2019 until March 2020 and a huge 28,000 people came to visit the exhibition. There was a special feature on BBC Look East in February, and pictures of the children’s artwork were even shown to the All Party Parliamentary Group for Art and Design Education in the Houses of Parliament!
