Well done for submitting all of your textured photographs. They were so thoughtfully chosen, and it was great to see so many of you getting out and about in your gardens, parks and even allotments! Our Morley rainbow spectrum can be seen here Morley Rainbow Spectrum
Your next challenge is to have a go at creating your own illustration with the help of award-winning illustrator Rob Biddulph...
Who is he?
Rob Biddulph is a bestselling and multi award-winning author and illustrator. He is the official World Book Day Illustrator for 2019-2020 and has written books such as 'Sunk!', 'GRRRRRR!' and 'Kevin'. His first picture book, 'Blown Away' was published in 2014 and was only the second illustrated book in history to win the Waterstones Children's Book Prize.
In March 2020 he started 'Draw With Rob', a series of draw-along videos to help create your own illustration.
What do I need to do?
1) You will need a piece of paper, a pen (a thick black one is best), and some colouring pencils.
You could also use paint, pastels, or chalk to colour your illustration, or just a plain sketching pencil to add shading.
2) Follow this link Draw With Rob and have a look at some of the videos. Choose the one you would like to draw, and follow along! If you would like to adapt yours in any way, or do more than one, even better.
Remember to try and make the outline of your illustration take up the majority of the page, and challenge yourself to add some texture and shading!
Remember to send a photo of your illustration (no faces or surnames please!) to art@morley.cambs.sch.uk by Wednesday 17th June and they will be posted in our Gallery.
If you would like to share your illustrations with me, but would rather it wasn't posted on the website, put 'Not for gallery' in the subject line.
I look forward to seeing your creations,
Miss Dalby
