Activity 1: Building a Case for Educational Technology Implementation
Overview
This is your opportunity to present all of your hard work, your personality, and your passion for Educational Technology. This field is one of creative spirits and innovative ideas, but in order to bring those ideas to reality, it is important that you have the consent of key stakeholders and your supervisors or the decision making authority. Now that you have gathered the statistical data and begun your action research, you will need to assimilate this data and research into a presentation for your school leader/board or district supervisor, i.e. the decision making authority. In this activity, you will be creating a presentation and a short video with the top reasons for implementing your learning solution.
Performance outcomes
Candidates will build a case for implementing the learning design and technology plan by referring to statistical data found on similar or different technology implementations
What will you do?
Create a presentation based on the statistical and literature research you completed in Unit 1 of this module. Present your key findings along with the data you have collected from the focus group or pilot implementation with a recommendation for implementing the whole learning solution. Specifically, include:
Relevant data charts from your statistical analysis along with key findings
Relevant quotes and summaries from your literature review
Pictures and artifacts of the focus group or pilot implementation done so far
Response received so far on the focus group or pilot implementation
Show how the learning solution is going to add value to student learning outcomes or increase the school’s competitive advantage as a technology leader
Create a creative and engaging short video (1 to 3 minutes) introducing and making a case for implementing your learning solution. Embed the video within your presentation. Add transition slides that include your name, location, current position, and any other information you would like to share.

Notes
The video short should be a good way to showcase your skills as an educational technology leader. Consider adding it to your E-portfolio.

Activity 2: Peer Review of Educational Technology Presentation
Overview
Before you submit your final submission on the Educational Technology Capstone project next week, it is good to gather feedback from your cohort peers on ways you can enhance or improve your presentation. In turn, you will learn how to look at potential learning solutions objectively as you review your peers’ presentations and use that knowledge to modify or enhance your own presentation, learning solution, or technology implementation plan.
Performance outcomes
Candidates will review peers’ presentations of their educational technology implementation plan based on their learning design solution.
What will you do?
Review at least two peers’ presentations from the perspective of a school leader and the target audience, and leave a comment on their activities. Recognize strengths and provide feedback for improvement on:
Relevance of the learning solution to the target audience
Learning value of the learning solution leading to deeper learning experiences
Impact of cost vs value analysis of the technology implementation
Ways for improving the solution or technology implementation
Use the Educational Technology Capstone Project Rubric for further guidance on evaluating your peers’ submissions.
Mention the names of the peers you have reviewed on the Submission page.
