UV light damages a microorganisms cellular function, leaving the water borne pathogens unable to reproduce. This inactivates viruses and bacteria in untreated water and supports a chemical-free water treatment method.
What is its role on the farm?
UV light treatment sanitizes water used to irrigate or wash produce. As the device treats the water for safe usage, this reduces the risk of bacterial contamination that leads to foodborne illnesses.
