The CoolBot’s purpose is to transform a heavily insulated space into a functional walk-in cooler. It allows you to safely store harvested produce at temperatures as low as 34°F without paying for a commercial transport refrigeration system.
A CoolBot is a smart device that overrides a standard window air conditioner's built-in limits. It tricks the AC into cooling a room down to 32°F (without freezing the coils), turning the insulated trailer into basically a walk-in cooler for harvested produce, like on this mobile lab
A CoolBot and window AC combo costs hundreds, compared to the thousands you would spend on commercial transport refrigeration
Runs on standard 120V outlets with a low starting draw, making it ideal for mobile labs running on solar, generators, or limited shore power
Mount the unit: Secure the CoolBot display box on the wall inside your cooler near your air conditioner, but not directly under it to avoid dripping condensation.
Unplug your air conditioner, remove the front cover and discard the air filter.
Remove the AC unit's temperature sensor, lay the heater cables alongside each other, and use the provided aluminum to wrap them together. Ensure they do not hang in front of the AC
Insert a pencil about 1/4 inch into the space between the first and second row of pipes on your AC, without piercing or touching the copper lines.
Insert the fin sensor tip carefully into the cooling coil fins. Squeeze the fins gently to hold it in place
Connect the power supply cable and plug in the CoolBot device. Then, set the temperature by pressing the check mark button to check the current temperature. Use the arrows to adjust. Hit the check mark button again to save the setting.
Turn your AC ON, set the mode to COOL (not Eco or Energy Saver), set the fan speed to HIGH, and turn the internal temperature setting to its absolute lowest possible degree.
