The electrostatic sprayer is a cordless backpack that sprays cleaning product to sanitize large and small areas quickly.
What is its role on the farm?
The backpack is battery-powered, allowing personnel the mobility to disinfect storage areas and harvest equipment. It is designed to replace slow hand-wiping and heavy, corded machines. On the farm, the sprayer reduces the spread of foodborne illness bacteria through access to in crevices in packaging, washing, transporation, or storage in the post-harvest process. The sprayer overall helps save time on manual labor and uses less chemical sanitizer.
How does it work?
The device uses air pressure to turn liquid disinfectant into a fine mist of tiny droplets. As these droplets leave the sprayer, they receive an electric charge that turns them into tiny magnets. This charge causes the mist to actively jump toward surfaces and wrap entirely around objects, including crates, handles, and bins, coating the front, sides, and back by itself.
Instructions:
Mount solution in backpack with bottle opening below dispensing tube and connect dispensing cap to bottle.
Remove spray wand from strap and thread extension cord through the strain relief. Plug into wall.
Put on backpack. Check harness is at proper setting for your height.
With wand firmly in hand, press and release the main power button. Main power button will illuminate blue.
Press the spray button once to initiate spraying. The first time you spray, point the wand into a corner or drain, press the spray button, and wait up to 25 seconds to generate a steady flow.
Spray the desired surface from 2-4 feet away using a slow, sweeping motion.
When finished, unfasten safety straps and remove backpack. Remove the container and purge the system until no liquid comes out of nozzle. Unplug power cord.
When ready to store the device, secure the extension cord and spray wand using the straps on the side of the backpack.
