The Rapid Mixer Granulator (RMG) is an indispensable machine in the Monash Malaysia pharmaceutics pilot plant, facilitating students’ innovative dosage form research. Combining dry powder mixing and wet massing, the RMG efficiently produces homogeneous and granulated formulations for downstream processing. With variable speed dry mixing capability, high shear wet granulation, and pneumatic discharge, the RMG supports small batch production of powder blends through finished granules ready for milling, tablet compression and capsule filling. Fully automated process control with data tracking simplifies scale-up and technology transfer. By leveraging the advanced functionality of the RMG, students can undertake novel drug layering, microencapsulation, and design of controlled release formulations to advance personalised, precision medicines tailored to patient’s needs and lifestyles.
