Vacuum Oven

The vacuum oven is an essential technology in the Monash Pharmacy laboratories, enabling the removal of trace solvents and complete drying of materials sensitive to atmospheric moisture and oxygen. This specialised oven facilitates rapid, gentle solvent evaporation and dehydration across pharmaceutical, chemical and materials science research projects by applying vacuum pressure while protecting sample integrity. An airtight chamber is fitted with shelves to process multiple samples simultaneously using the integrated vacuum pump and vapour collection system. Programmable heating allows adjustable temperatures up to 200°C. Exceptional temperature uniformity ensures all samples experience identical conditions, aiding reproducibility.
