Minister for Education Mr Chan Chun Sing
Mr Chan Chun Sing was appointed Singapore’s Minister for Education on 15 May 2021. He is also Minister-in-charge of the Public Service since 1 May 2018.
He was previously Minister for Trade and Industry and responsible for driving Singapore’s economic and industrial development. He was also Deputy Chairman of the People’s Association, where he oversaw national efforts to foster social cohesion.
Mr Chan’s earlier appointments included Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). At NTUC, he expanded the Labour Movement network to represent all working people in Singapore. Mr Chan also served as Second Minister for Defence and Minister for Social and Family Development (MSF). At MSF, he was responsible for improving social service delivery, enhancing social safety nets and strengthening support for families in Singapore.

Minister of State Mr Alvin Tan
Mr Alvin Tan was appointed Minister of State for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry on 1 September 2020. He was first elected as a Member of Parliament in July 2020. On 22 November 2021, he was appointed to the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) Board of Directors for a three-year term.
Mr Tan has worked in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Before joining the government as Minister of State, he worked in organisations such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Goldman Sachs, the United Nations and Oxfam. Mr Tan holds a First Class Honours in Economics from the University of Sydney and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University.
