Top Six Things to Set Up

Hear from the Tech Champions what are the top things you should set up when you just received your iPads! These would help you be prepared for using the iPads in learning.

  1. Check settings for iOS updates

Regularly checking and updating your iOS ensure that all your apps are running as they should.

2. Log in to various Google apps

By login into Google Apps with our personal ICON email, we are able to access lesson materials easily and conveniently. We are able to note down our to-do list using Google Keep and schedule our WAs using Google Calendar. All the tasks given by the teachers will always be uploaded through Google classroom and you can rely on Google Document and Google Drive to complete and save your work respectively.

3. Log in to Padlet on CTSS's backpack account

Login into Padlet on Safari allows a smoother and easier experience for users as glitches may occur on Padlet App. Make sure that you are logging in with your ICON email account at the domain ctss.padlet.org

4. Create and organise folders in iCloud Drive.

By organising your work with distinct folders along with the standardised naming convention, you will be able to easily locate and retrieve your work when revising or submitting your work. This will also help your teachers when they would like you to submit your work.

5. Pair Apple Pencil with iPad

Express your creativity by pairing your apple pencil to your ipad. This allows you to be able to pen down important notes in class and draw/doodle during your free time. Turn on the Scribble feature to convert your handwriting into text, which makes it more convenient for you!

6. Customise your Home Screen

Make the iPad your own by designing your home screen however you like! From adding widgets to color coding your apps, customisation brings joy whenever you turn on the iPad. You can also design it so that the apps you use frequently are easily accessible.
