PAST SIL FEatures

SIL Series 4_Chen Huai.mp4

Impressed by the art of Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu, Chen Huai started mixed martial arts training two years ago. The sport has grown him into a more resilient youth who believes in taking responsibility of his own life - be it learning or well-being.

In the words of Chen Huai - "Your journey is completely yours. No one can live it or own it, but you. Take charge of your own journey."

There is no day called someday. While it is good to have dreams, it is even more important to translate them into action.

Start where you are, with what you have and start today. Have you started yours? If not now, then when?

What We Learn_SIL Series 3_Elysia_Final.mp4

For week 6, we joined the live stream with Elysia Tu from Sec 2 Band and checked out how she does her stream. Elysia also shared about her journey in singing and music composition. Having only moved to Singapore 1.5 years ago, Elysia started doing live streams on Instagram as a means to catch up and update her friends in Malaysia about how she is doing in Singapore. Besides singing, she would engage her viewers by talking about current affairs.

"Don't be afraid to explore and start now by finding things that interest you. Then persist so that you can see your improvement."

Take your first step today by exploring the resources we have put together for you.  Resources are located after the section on CCA Padlets!

In week 4's series, Jonathan Yeo from Sec 2 Wushu shares about his interest in urban farming and gardening. He has also recommended a popular app, Seek - iNaturalist which is made available on the Sustainability & Nature Page. An initiative by the National Geographic Society, the app helps you to learn more about nature and connect with naturalists and scientists around the world!

As Jonathan has shared, stay curious and challenge yourself to go further. It is okay to start small, but start now.

What We Learn_SIL Series 2_final.mp4

In week 2, we caught up with Ethan Ong from Sec 4 Guzheng about how he got started in speedcubing two years ago.

What you see in the video is happening at real-time - the time he takes to turn the Rubik's cube is his actual time.

Ethan has kindly shared his resources for speed cubing and they are made available on the Sports and Healthy Lifestyle Page.

As Ethan has shared, we can all choose to remain at Day One, or take the first step in exploring something which interests you, One Day at a time. You decide. :)
