“Art and design connect our community — they make learning visible,
meaningful, and joyful.”
I believe that impactful education happens when teachers work together to connect disciplines, ideas, and people. Over the years, I have collaborated with departments across my school to design creative projects that integrate Art, Design Thinking, and Maker Education — enriching students’ learning while strengthening school culture.
Purpose: Fundraising and community engagement through art.
During the school’s Open House, I co-led a project titled Artz on Tile, where students’ artwork was printed on ceramic tiles for sale to the public.
Impact:
Raised funds to support school art programmes and community causes.
Gave students pride in seeing their artwork professionally produced and displayed.
Some other items I've made for the fund raising project.

Purpose: Bringing student art into public spaces. Collaborated with the Art Department and the Choa Chu Kang Public Library to showcase student artworks in a public exhibition at Lot 1.
Roles & Achievements:
Designed publicity posters and banners.
Conducted workshops such as “The Mirror Artist” to help students explore symmetry using iPad apps.
Strengthened students’ confidence by presenting their artwork to a wider audience.
Purpose: Celebrating art and performance as part of National Day.
As the teacher-in-charge of Maker Education, I collaborated with the Art Department to curate an art exhibition and design student craft challenges aligned with the “HeartStrings” theme.
Highlights:
Led students in creating themed crafts and display installations.
Encouraged school-wide participation in the art challenge.
Impact:
Promoted creativity, national identity, and teamwork through art and making.

Purpose: Supporting student well-being and creativity during the COVID-19 circuit breaker.
I developed and maintained a website featuring weekly creative challenges such as DIY crafts, drawing, music, and quizzes to keep students meaningfully engaged.
Highlights:
Designed and hosted activities aligned with festive themes (e.g., Mother’s Day, National Day, Mid-Autumn Festival).
Encouraged family participation and digital submissions.
Impact:
Fostered school spirit and continuity of learning during home-based learning.
With my background in digital graphic design, I have contributed to many school and cluster events as a visual designer — creating:
Event banners, posters, and digital backdrops.
Programme booklets, certificates, and invitations.
Stage designs and visual identities for school celebrations and exhibitions.
💡 Design Philosophy:
I approach visual communication as a teaching tool — each design not only informs but also inspires.

In conjunction with the school's 70th anniversary in 2016, I designed a mural wall with the school's motto "With Heart & Mind“ (see picture below). Students' artwork, based on the school values, were embedded on the word "HEART". With the help of some parent volunteers, the primary 1 students imprinted their palm prints on the wall. This wall serves as a daily reminder, to the students, of the school values and to serve with their hearts & minds.
