"Art and fabrication share the same spirit — imagination made tangible."
I am currently an Allied Educator (Teaching and Learning) in a Singapore primary school, passionate about nurturing creativity through both Art and Maker Education. My teaching journey began with my love for art and design. After graduating from polytechnic, I pursued design courses at a private art school, where I was soon invited to teach part-time — the moment I discovered my joy in guiding others to create.
Before joining education, I worked as a marketing executive, where I honed my skills in digital graphic design using Adobe software. Later, as an IT trainer, I taught adults and corporate clients computer literacy, which strengthened my ability to simplify complex ideas and engage diverse learners.
These experiences now shape my teaching practice, where I integrate hands-on artmaking, design thinking, and digital tools to help students express their ideas creatively and confidently.
🧩 Ongoing Professional Development
I am currently pursuing the Fab Learning Academy for Educators, an international program that deepens my expertise in using digital fabrication technologies—such as laser cutting, 3D printing, and electronics—for K–12 learning environments. Through this course, I explore how to guide students from concept to creation, and how to design authentic maker experiences that blend creativity, engineering, and problem-solving.
This programme has greatly enhanced my growth as a makerspace educator, enabling me to:
Integrate advanced maker tools into meaningful, student-driven projects.
Design cross-disciplinary learning experiences connecting Art, STEM, and Design Thinking.
Build a deeper understanding of global maker education pedagogy and innovation.
Outside the classroom, I continue to pursue my own artistic growth in digital illustration and mixed-media art. These experiences keep me curious, creative, and inspired to model lifelong learning for my students.
