Create with Bendies (Pipe cleaners)

Through hands-on play, students explored line, shape, and form by bending pipe cleaners to create imaginative characters and group sculptures.

Learning Highlights:

• Develop fine motor skills and spatial awareness through manipulation of 3D materials.

• Collaborate to design themed creations (e.g. “Fruit Platter”).

• Reflect on teamwork and making process through short group sharing.

Gardens of Marks

Students experimented with mark making using fingers, hands, and unconventional tools to create expressive tree compositions.

Learning Highlights:

• Discover textures and patterns through tactile exploration.

• Express rhythm and energy through repeated mark patterns.

• Extend learning outdoors with bubble mark-making activity to explore art beyond the classroom.

🎨 Growth Mindset: Students learned to appreciate experimentation and imperfection as part of creativity.

As an extension of the mark making unit, I designed and planned an outdoor activity where students learnt mark making with bubbles. It was a memorable and enjoyable learning experience for the students.
