Students will undergo the CCA Experience to learn more about the various CCAs in each House during their Orientation programme in the first few days of school.
Through the CCA Experience, students will go through Aptitude Exercises to find out whether their innate ability lies in the Performing Arts, Sports or Uniformed Groups. CCA-specific trials will also be carried out.
Students will be given five CCA options to indicate their interests and the school will allocate CCAs based on students’ interests as well as CCAs’ vacancies.
CCAs in secondary schools are compulsory and are an important part of students’ school experience. Besides providing a holistic education through their CCA experience, the school hopes to encourage students to develop skills and competencies that would enable them to lead a meaningful and purposeful life.
CCA sessions are conducted twice a week in CTSS, usually on Monday and Wednesday for most CCAs.
CTSS has a vibrant aesthetic programme through the curriculum (e.g. Art and Music) as well as through school-wide programmes.
For more information about our CTSS Aesthetics Programme, please refer to our school website: https://www.clementitownsec.moe.edu.sg/curriculum/aesthetics-and-craft-n-technology-department/
The school will support students who participate in sports at national level or sport academies that the school does not offer.
Please contact our HOD/PE & CCA or SH/PE & CCA at ctss@moe.edu.sg when your child joins our school next year.
Clementi Town Secondary School offers Direct School Admission (DSA) in areas such as:
Leadership and Character
Uniformed Groups
Performing Arts (Symphonic Band & Drama)
The school is looking for students who demonstrate strong character, commitment, and passion in their area of talent. Applicants will go through interviews and, where relevant, trials or auditions. A good conduct record and positive attitude toward learning are also key.
To find out more about the school’s DSA talent areas and selection process, visit: www.clementitownsec.moe.edu.sg/admissions/direct-school-admission
DSA applications are not categorised into posting groups at the point of application or offer. The school assesses each applicant holistically, considering their talents, skills, and potential in the specific talent areas offered. Academic results, including PSLE scores or primary school exam results, are not the determining factors in DSA offers.
When a student receives a confirmed offer for DSA-Sec, they will be admitted to the school if they opt for the school during the school preference submission period in October. The actual posting group placement is determined only after the release of the PSLE results, in accordance with MOE guidelines. The student will receive an Eligibility Letter enclosed with their PSLE results if applicable.
It is crucial to understand that DSA is designed to look beyond academic grades. The school seeks students who demonstrate passion, aptitude, and potential in their areas of talent.
