National Digital Literacy Programme (NDLP)
Ministry of Education (MOE) launched the National Digital Literacy Programme (NDLP) in March 2020 to future proof all students for a digital world. Under the NDLP, MOE announced that every student will own a school-prescribed personal learning device (PLD) by end-2021 so that all students can be equipped with the digital literacies to work and thrive in time to come.
The use of the personal learning device for teaching and learning aims to:
support the development of digital literacies - PLDs provide an immersive environment for students to develop the dispositions, knowledge and skills to thrive in the digital environment;
support self-directed and collaborative learning - PLDs enable students to learn online according to their needs and interests and to collaborate with each other, anytime and anywhere, and
enhance Teaching and Learning - PLDs harness technology for greater effectiveness in teaching and learning, enabled by teachers’ use of e-Pedagogy to provide learning experiences for students.
Through NDLP, students at different stages of their education journey will also be able to acquire skills across four components in the "Find, Think, Apply, Create" framework.
