Ming and Peter were best friends. They had been neighbours for many years and were inseparable. On weekends,
they would usually be at each other’s homes to catch up on their homework or at the community club playing badminton.
However, after Ming moved away last month, there were fewer occasions for the two to meet up. Peter, especially, felt as if he had been left behind.
“Why don’t you arrange a study session with Ming at the library?” Peter’s mother suggested.
“Oh, I’m sure Ming is too busy making friends in his new neighbourhood to want to meet me,” Peter sulked.
Just then, the phone rang. It was Ming asking Peter if he would like to go over to his new flat for tea! Peter was elated and immediately turned to his mother to ask for permission.
Before Peter could do so, his mother smiled and nodded, signalling her consent. Peter’s eyes lit up as he enthusiastically resumed his conversation with Ming and told him the fabulous news.
