PENGAJIAN PERUBATAN DI MALAYSIA
Perubatan ialah sains dan amalan berkenaan diagnosis, rawatan, dan pencegahan penyakit. Perubatan merangkumi pelbagai amalan penjagaan kesihatan yang bercambah untuk mengekalkan dan mengembalikan kesihatan melalui pencegahan dan rawatan penyakit-penyakit. Secara dasarnya doktor merupakan seseorang yang berkelayakan dalam mengamalkan perubatan. Setelah tamat pengajian di peringkat Ijazah Sarjana Muda, pelajar akan perlu mendaftar di bawah Majlis Perubatan Malaysia (Malaysia Medical Council (MMC) untuk menjalani Housemanship selama 2 tahun atau lebih. Doktor akan mendapat kelayakan pendaftaran penuh dengan MPM dengan menjalani latihan pra-pendaftaran jawatan Pegawai Perubatan yang diberi oleh Kerajaan Malaysia di Hospital Kerajaan dalam tempoh 3 tahun sebelum dibenarkan bekerja dengan agensi swasta. Selepas selesai dengan jayanya latihan pra-pendaftaran, doktor akan diselia di mana-mana hospital seperti hospital kerajaan, hospital daerah, klinik kerajaan atau klinik swasta.
Terdapat 29 buah Institusi Pengajian Tinggi di Malaysia yang diiktiraf oleh Majlis Perubatan Malaysia untuk Pengajian Perubatan. 11 daripadanya merupakan universiti awam yang menawarkan kursus bersama-sama temu duga kepada para pelajar lepasan matrikulasi/ asasi sains manakala 18 buah merupakan institusi pengajian tinggi swasta IPTS).
