Our students researched two emblematic Mediterranean plants of Marseille: lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) which actually grow in the school’s kitchen garden.
They explored each plant’s scientific characteristics, ideal growing conditions, ecological significance for local biodiversity and current uses in medicine, cosmetics, or cuisine. The students then created a digital presentation featuring visuals, maps, and interactive elements to clearly illustrate their findings.
The presentations were shared and discussed in small classroom groups, giving students an opportunity to reflect on the rich biodiversity of the Marseille region and exchange ideas with their peers. All final projects were uploaded to a shared drive for collective access and future reference.
