A Taste Test is a small food sample offered in the cafeteria at lunchtime to introduce students to new flavors, textures, and smells. Samples might include fresh salsa with chips, roasted root vegetables, or a mini carrot-maple muffin. After tasting, students (and adults) vote on whether they tried it, liked it, and would try it again. Student meal accommodations are always considered. Taste Tests give children a fun, low-pressure way to explore new foods and help schools choose healthy menu items that students actually enjoy. They also reduce food waste and encourage adventurous eating. This time, some local high schoolers from MMU even stopped by to help serve samples of apples from Chapin Orchard and cheer on the younger students as they tried something new!

Reading Together: A Visit from Members of Our School Community
Kindergarten Spanish Immersion students were thrilled to welcome three special guest readers into their classroom this week! Mrs. West, Nurse Hadley, and our principal, Mr. Rector, each shared a story with the class, making reading time extra special. Students loved listening to familiar faces read books, sparking curiosity and joy for language learning. The visitors brought enthusiasm, expression, and fun to every page. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with members of our school community while celebrating the joy of storytelling. The smiles and laughter in the room made it clear—reading together is one of the best ways to learn!
