December All School Meeting
Our December All School Meeting was led by Spanish Immersion 4th grade students from both classrooms. They did a wonderful job welcoming the student body, leading new greeting and mindfulness activities, and introducing Mrs. Corrigan. Mrs. Corrigan guided the school through a joyful winter sing-along and was joined by third grader Colt Vietje, who accompanied the song “Sleigh Bells” on the piano. We encourage families to ask their student(s) to share one of the songs from the morning or demonstrate the Snowflake Greeting at home.
What's New
Dictionaries Donated to Support Third Grade Students
Charles (Chuck) and Mike from the Jericho-Underhill Lions Club, also representing the Richmond Masons, visited RES third graders to present each student with a dictionary. During their visit, they spoke with students about volunteer service organizations and how these groups support local communities through fundraisers and community activities.
Students were excited to explore their new dictionaries, searching for the longest word in the world, learning how to sign the alphabet, discovering flags from around the globe, and much more.
Preschool Solstice Celebration
In PreK, all classes have been thinking about our light - the kindness that shines from within that we share with others. One small light may not seem like much, but when we all shine together the glow radiates wide and bright. The culmination of this was our Solstice Celebration. PreK students and their families walked on a contemplation spiral, where students celebrated their growth both as learners and as humans. Each student placed their handmade lantern along the spiral to share their brilliance. At the center of the Spiral, our generous families left donations of food and warm socks & blankets around the Giving Tree. These items will be delivered to the Richmond Food Shelf & Thrift Store, so our light and kindness will shine into our community.

Reducing Traffic Congestion Through
Bus Transportation
We encourage families to take advantage of our school bus transportation whenever possible. Riding the bus helps reduce traffic congestion during arrival and dismissal, making our school campus safer and more efficient for everyone. Fewer cars also mean less waiting, smoother drop-off and pick-up times, and a more environmentally friendly start and end to the school day.
VOLUNTEERING
**If you think you might VOLUNTEER at any point during the school year, please be sure to fill out the Volunteer Form now.**
It is much easier to fill it out now so you can be cleared to volunteer at any point during the school year.

For the 2025-2026 school year, school meals will continue to be free. Even though there is no charge for snack and lunch, we encourage you to fill out this application for free and reduced-price school meals. If many families fill out and return this form, we will get more money from the federal government for free school meals now and in the future. We will also get more money for other school programs. Filling out this form also helps our community provide free summer meals to all kids, and free meals to kids in childcare. HERE is additional information outlining food service, free and reduced lunch, and common questions asked.
