Industrial Visit
BHORUKHA POWER CORPORATION LIMITED, Nidle.
Industrial visit was carried out at BHORUKHA POWER CORPORATION LIMITED, Nidle. On 25 October 2021 especially for semester 5 ME student. The main objective behind the visit was to make student aware about how various activities related to Hydel power Plant carried out in Industry and give them feel of actual Experience in industrial work.
SKF ELIXER INDIA PVT. LTD, Belvai
Industrial visit was carried out at SKF ELIXER INDIA PVT. LTD, Belvai, on 29 October 2021 especially for semester 7ME1 student. The main objective behind the visit was to make student aware about how various activities related to manufacturing of water filters and paddy sewing and drying machine and give them feel of actual Experience in industrial work.

Title:-How to Write a Project Proposal

The speaker guided the students in how Documentation, Background/History/Literature Review should done. Also gave hints on how to Identifying the requirement of the project, Defining Problem statement, Objectives, and Scope. He briefed the importance of adoption of methodology, Time frame, Preliminary Investigation and How to arrive at the solution. Students were able to understand the steps to be followed and preliminary study to be taken before writing the project proposal and how to concisely prepare the proposal.

Almost 70% of India’s population lives in rural India. The villagers mainly engage in agriculture for their subsistence and livelihood. These populations often have limited resources such as electricity, water, income for capital investment- and thus require appropriately designed solutions to technological problems.
The speaker emphasized on innovations that can ease the working under such conditions, especially for the marginal farmer. As an example, with the help of a video image the resource person displayed an activity relating to the separation of individual areca nut kernels from the bunch. A rapidly rotating wheel of an inclined vehicle was shown to serve this purpose. On similar lines of thinking the expert urged the 7th semester students to come up with a low-cost innovative solution to address this issue.

Innovation 2022 Souvenir released by the Dignitaries Chief guest Dr. Ramesh from NITK addressing the participants
A one-day student projects exhibition "Innovation-2022" was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering on 18th June 2022. Dr. C R Rajashekhar, Vice Principal & HoD, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, welcomes the all the dignitaries and participants and also highlighted the theme of innovation 2022.
The project exhibition was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Ramesha M R, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, NITK, Surthakal. He highlighted the significance of participating in the project competitions/exhibitions and motivated budding engineering community to involve in innovative technology. Student's project abstracts were brought in the form of Innovation 2022 Souvenir and it was released by the dignitaries. The program was presided by Dr. M S Ganesha Prasad, Principal, MITE.
Mr. Prajwal V Kumar, MD & Co-Founder of Mangalore Robautonics Pvt. Ltd. and Dr. Sharanappa J, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NITK were the jury members. Mr. Shivaramu H T, Department of Mechanical Engineering was the Dept. co-coordinator of Innovation 2022.
