Workshops

Title: IOT

Date: 8th and 9th October, 2018

Target Audience: 4th year students

The first and second session started with an Introduction on IOT, How internet is connected to real life things. IOT using services, Applications of IOT. IOT facts- Driver less autonomous cars, Internet connected smart devices, IOT devices in medical field, Application of Internet of things in Automobile sector.

Third and fourth sessions were hands-on training By Jagatheeswaran Senthivelan. The session started by downloading various files, installing files, Distributing Flux Gen kits, Explaining safety measures to handle the kit. Introduction to microprocessors, microcontroller, protocols and cloud

Title: CNC MACHINE USING ARDUINO

Target Audience: - 2nd and 3rd year Mechanical engineering students

In this workshop students learnt about building of CNC Milling machine. The programming of stepper motors is done using Arduino. Students did coding of CNC machine with the support of trainer. The in depth knowledge about the CNC is covered in this workshop, which is most required aspect for the current competitive era for all mechanical engineer. The prototype model is built by students was successfully executed the task link drilling and milling etc.

Title: WELDING SIMULATOR

Target Audience: Faculty members and laboratory staff

Department of Mechanical Engineering was organized One day workshop on "Welding Simulator" on 14th June 2019 in association with MOGORA COSMIC PVT. LTD. Mr. Sanjay Hubli. Regional Manager, MOGORA Cosmic Pvt. Ltd. was the resource person. He briefed on virtual simulator and gave hands on training. All faculty members and laboratory staff participated actively in the workshop.

Date: 2nd & 4th April 2019.

Target Audience: 4th year Mechanical engineering students

Dr. Jayadev Prasad began with highlighting code of conduct which states the rules, values, ethical principles and vision for your business. Having a code of conduct in your workplace provides staff with clear standards and expectations of how to do their job. Under code of conduct he emphasize dress code as mandatory, greet with smile and no alcohol/smoking at work. He also mentioned illegal Matters, Immoral issues, Discrimination and Harassment.

Title: Challenges of Engineering Graduate as Individual and team

Target Audience: 2nd year students

Mr. Aashish explained clearly about various key points of Mechanical Engineering like scope, various domains and basic parameters which are expected by the Industries from Mechanical Engineering Graduates. He spoke about importance of communication skill, leadership quality in industry to achieve extraordinary things and to reach better position.

Founder of Academy in Pursuit of engineering excellence (APEX)

Date: 11th February 2019.

Target Audience: 2nd and 3rd year students

Mr. Ananth Pai S is a founder of Academy in Pursuit of engineering excellence (APEX), in his talk he stressed scope of GATE in various area like PG in IISc/IITs/NIT’s, public sector unions junior research fellows in CSIR, IES exam and employment in private companies.

The classes were engaged to 3rd year on Metal forming (15ME653) subject. He discussed the fundamental aspects of Extrusion processes, Sheet metal forming and High Energy rate forming techniques.
