Mr. Prabhakar Kikkeri shared knowledge on the topic “advances in metrology” which included different aspects of metrology such as Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) which is a system for defining and communicating engineering tolerances.

Prof. Paul Chiarot, delivered a talk on Innovative Research Method. He Elaborated importance Research in multidisciplinary field. he stressed the faculty to carry out innovative projects in various field to serve for the society. he pointed the how to find the research problem and how to adopt research methodology to arrive the solution for defined problem. he also invited MITE faculties to use the research facilities in Binghampton University.

Professor Narendranath briefed on the basics of shape memory alloys and their characteristics. The session continued with sharing the knowledge on various graphs related to the characteristics of these alloys. Later the session ended with a discussion on the various applications of shape memory alloys in different fields

Speaker shed light on the basics of the gyroscope to the students and shared knowledge about the studies that were done by Newton on the motion of the earth. The session continued with a discussion on studies made by Euler on the same. Professor explained the concept of gyroscope through practical examples which helped the students to understand the concept in a better manner.

Mr Yadu Krishna highlighted about a fresh graduate's salary expectations. Their knowledge and industry expectations concerning hard work, dedication, add on skills/flexibility. He specified the advantages of joining a small-scale industry by way of which one stands to gain competency in marketing, purchase, design and drawing, manufacturability, customer satisfaction, time management, finance, workers allocation, and management, etc. These will be more useful in all-round development of a professional in an industrial set-up

Title: LEAN SIX SIGMA GREEN BELT TRAINING

The training program handout and data spreadsheet was shared with all the participating students on 10th April 2018. In addition to the above training sessions, Professor offered students to access a pre-recorded Statistics course. This course of 6.5 hours duration would serve as an excellent pre-requisite for students enrolled in the training program. The Link, username and password for this course was mailed to all students well before the commencement of the program.
Title: Aerotix-Automobile prototyping

Date: 23th March 2018 – 24th march 2018.
Target Audience: 3rd-year students
A campus profile of Skyfi labs was introduced to the students. Later on, an introduction to 3D printing was told to the students using PPT as a classroom session. In the afternoon session of day one, an introduction to electronics was given. After this task was whereas students given were asked to control the speed of the step-up motor using an Arduino board with this day 1 had come to an end.
Day 2 began with introduction to free CAD software's and to SLICER sottware. The task was to create models of any shape using the tree CAD software. G-codes and M-codes were briefed and there after each student could print their own model that they designed. With this the workshop came to an end. An online feedback report was given by students. The completion of this workshop showed the interest of students towards this new domain that they haven't studicd about.

Dr. Mohammad T. Khasawneh, conducted training sessions on various aspects of lean six sigma. Around 50 students from the Mechanical Engineering discipline participated in the program and benefited by acquiring knowledge on applications of Lean Six Sigma.

Audience are gained knowledge on advances in metrology, how industry is moving ahead from conventional metrology to coordinate metrology, introduction to Industry 4.0, changes in the technology ete. They also gave an insight into their quality data management software 'nweb.

The speaker started off explaining that amazing teachers are the most critical component in helping students be successful. A teacher must designs initiatives to inspire a student and elevate the value in which our community holds them. To excel‟ means to surpass, to be pre-eminent, hence, excellence‟ in teaching and learning implies being pre-eminent and connotes a sense of certain distinguishing features such that those exhibiting excellence stand out from the rest.

Topic: Qualities of a Teacher
Speaker: Prof. Premshekhar, Chief Executive Officer, Shangri-In Academy of Life and Literature, Manipal.
According to the speaker, students are most affected by the quality of their teachers. Not only do they interact with teachers every day in the classroom, but the quality of that interaction matters for our students’ future. In fact, the speaker noted that the difference between a good and a bad teacher can be a full level of student achievement in a single school year. The speaker went on to describe some good qualities of a teacher.

Topic: Engineer and the Society

The speaker explained how structure and operation of the complex societies in developed world are completely dependent on countless applications of technology. Speaker also gave an insight of how future is highly dependent on human development and application of technology and how a large extent current society is as a result of the technology that was decided to apply in the past.

Topic: Student Guidance and Counselling
Speaker: Dr. Suphala S Kotian, Nirel Charitable Trust, Mangalore
The speaker emphasised on the importance of Guidance and counselling for children, and how it acts a major role in bringing out the best in children. And, through counselling how children should be given advice to manage and deal with emotional conflict and personal problems.
