Millbury girls' volleyball has the reputation around Central Mass as a team that is always going to be a tough match. Playoffs are the expection for the team for the past years including a final four appearance. They are currently 7-8 this year, with some big wins over Whitinsville Christian, BVT, and Nipmuc. Some players who have stepped into big roles are Giuliana Gerolomo, Neveah Collins, and Amaya Brooks. Gerolomo is a sophomore, while Collins and Brooks are both Freshmen. This is a good group to build around for the future, while other juniors who will be returning next year are Julie Lallo, Isabella Ferria, and Alex Brouilard. I got the chance to talk to Julie Lallo and she told me “We have a good young group we are built for the future.” This team may not be perfect at the moment, but they have a very bright future ahead of them. Now, if there is anyone to get this team back to a Final Four game, it’s Coach McKeon. He has rallied his troops to several winning seasons, and I think this group this year and in the future has an opportunity to continue on this upward trajectory under his leadership. Watch out for Millbury girls volleyball as they can very well get back to a team that their opponents are scared to play.
