Use of Time and Space

The environment of a classroom is an important aspect of learning. The traditional classroom with desks neatly spaced and the teacher in front of the chalkboard has long been gone, but even now we as teachers need to rethink our classroom space to fit the use of technology within our classrooms. Where and how students learn has changed a great deal. Students don't even need to be present within the classroom to learn (although I find that hard to say and cringe at the thought that students don't have to be in my classroom) I learned that it is also important to rethink the way we use our time in class. How much of our time is spent in direct instruction and how much is allotted to indirect instruction through technology.
