Background

Jimie Baker is an alumni of Delta High.  Here she participated in choir, musicals, Swim Team, & Water Polo.  She played the "Witch" in "into the Woods" and "Golde" in "Fiddler on the Roof".

    She got her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from SUU. There she had the opportunity of performing as "Frasquita" in Bizet's Opera "Carmen".  She worked hard and graduated Cumma Sum Laude with a GPA of 3.8.  

    After SUU she taught in Duchesne as a k-12 music teacher.  She taught Band, Choir, & Guitar. 

    Jimie served an LDS mission to North Carolina Raleigh Mission.  

    After her mission she got a job teaching in St. George. She taught half of a day at Desert Hills Intermediate and the other half at Snow Canyon Middle School.  There in St. George she met her husband and after her first child she quit teaching to be a mom.  She lived in New Harmony while her husband got a degree in teaching Tech-Ed and then they moved to Kanab.  She lived in Kanab for two years and participated as a soloist for the local choir and orchestra group. She is finally back home teaching in the place where she gained a desire to teach music.
