RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TEMPERATURE AND THE KINETIC ENERGY OF THE PARTICLES WITHIN A SUBSTANCE

Including, but not limited to:

• Temperature – measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in a substance

• Kinetic energy – the energy of motion

• When a substance is heated, the substances’ particles speed up, which results in an increase in temperature.
