Story #007:
Mariam Z.

Mariam Z., 5th Grader

Story by Madeline S.

"Going to San Francisco, where I was born, to visit the Golden Gate Bridge is something I enjoy. I love to see different monuments and something on my bucket list is to do more traveling. I would love to travel to the mountains to go hiking, and travel to New Zealand or Spain to learn more about different cultures.

Some of my favorite things include animals and music. My favorite animal is a dolphin and I have been to two dolphin shows. Along with dolphins I love to look at other aquatic animals at the aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia. One of my favorite hobbies is playing the violin. I practice five days a week and have a lesson once a week. Performances at MICDS are very fun for me and sometimes I even play with the orchestra.

I love spending time with my mom, dad, and two younger brothers. My mom bakes the best desserts from scratch. Something that used to scare me when I was little was if I could not see my mom in a store. My mom was also a huge inspiration to me for my writing. She taught me how to write and now I love to write short stories in my free time. The inspiration for my stories is the good books I have read. I love to also read in my free time, which my dad taught me how to do."
