"Humans of MICDS" made its inaugural debut during the Winter Term of the 2023-2024 school year at MICDS. Led by Ms. Kayla Helton and assisted by Ms. Marcela Casco-Lee, a team of sixteen 7th and 8th Grade students collaborated over eight days to produce a project aimed at showcasing the identity and diversity of our school community.

The program not only honed students' creative and communication skills but also aspired to foster a more profound sense of unity and empathy within the MICDS school community. Employing photography, interviews, and storytelling, participants had the opportunity to capture the distinctive narratives of their peers, teachers, and staff members, ultimately curating a website to share their findings.

Engaging in this initiative positioned students as active contributors to the ongoing narrative of MICDS. This ongoing effort serves to celebrate diversity, strengthen interpersonal bonds, and establish a more cohesive sense of shared identity within the school community.
