What can materials teach us?
What can we learn from play?

Looking ahead
I can reflect upon my progress so far in the course.
I can live strategies that prompt idea generation and support creative thinking.
I can engage in exploratory play with materials.
I can reflect upon my discoveries, epiphanies and enduring understandings arrived at through embodying childlike ways of being.
Why are we doing this?
A previsualization
I invite you to close your eyes (or turn off your camera, whatever is most comfortable for you)
I want you to think of a place that you feel very safe and comfortable.
Call this place into your mind's eye.
Where are you within the space?
What do your surroundings look like?
What is the atmosphere like? what about the weather?
Do you associate any colors with this place?
Are you alone, or are others with you?
When you listen, what can you hear?
If you were to reach out, what would you touch?
Reach out and touch it, how does it feel?
What does this place smell like?
Do you have any memories associated with this space?
Call those memories to mind now. Spend a moment with them.
Spend a moment feeling the way that the space makes you feel-- safe, comfortable.
When you are ready to open your eyes/turn on your camera please do. Spend a few minutes writing about your space and how you envisioned it.
