Field Notes & Closing
I can give voice to my current iteration/articulation of my Big Idea.
I can investigate the framework for the Thematic Unit of Study that I will be creating.
I can articulate the qualities that make an art problem elegant.
I can generate a variety of Elegant Problems that could facilitate my learners' exploration of my Big Idea.
I can visualize and articulate the ways in which engaging with my Elegant Problem will guide learners to develop deeper understandings of art, self and world.
How did that go?

Using the Elegant Problem that you are MOST excited about as a starting point, fill out your copy of the Art - Self - World Diagram
This file will allow you to make a personal copy of the template. Please make sure to add it to your Strategies Folder -- it will not automatically save there
Want to see all of the elements of my unit so far?
You will be delving into a prototyping process to help with idea-generation for your thematic units. This week, take a look around your making spaces, wherever that is for you, and gather materials that have potential to be used in a unit intended for young people, PK-12 (in other words, don't gather toxic dyes or dangerous tools or other non-kid friendly things)
Prepare a makerspace/tinkering station/prototyping lab! Begin by
Collecting and organizing "stuff" to manipulate (anything that can be drawn upon, bent, formed, shaped, combined, etc.)
Gathering and organizing things that make marks.
Gathering and organizing tools (scissors, applicators...?)
Gathering adhesives (glue or...?)
Please do not hunt for these right before or during class--your homework is to be prepared with everything-in-reach and organized.
Be resourceful--look at everything as having artmaking potential! Consider the fact that many K-12 learners are currently working from their homes with limited access to traditional classroom tools/materials
Take a photo of your setup and share it to this Padlet!
