Project: Wool Applique Cushion

Fru Ástríðr Sægeirsdottir, Barony of Stonemarche: https://wiki.eastkingdom.org/index.php?title=%C3%81str%C3%AD%C3%B0r_S%C3%A6geirsdottir

Wool Applique Cushion

Objective: I hope to create a small book cushion and cover using the Opus Consutum technique, based on the style of the Tristan wall hanging that is currently in the collections at the V&A Museum in London.

The Planning Stages

Objective: Because of the scope and time frame of this challenge, I have decided to create a sort of project management guide. There are a lot of smaller steps that could easily get away from me, if I am not careful.

The first part of this document is the outline that I created for the "Planning Stages" challenge.

The second part of the document is a living document, where I have recorded my steps and "checked them off" against the outline.

This project already looks fantastic, and I am so proud of you for stretching yourself with a new technique. You do beautiful work <3

I love this project, and it's awesome that you broke it down this way: it's so much more manageable. It's really looking great so far...I can't wait to see the completed piece!

I liked that you broke down the project into "bite-sized" steps. Did you find that it made the project seem less intimidating? Do you have a sense as to your timeline to complete the cushion?

Your documentation is a model of how to record a piece of experimental archaeology, and the completed portion of the cushion is lovely. Keep up the good work - I am really impressed.

Your documentation of the process is amazing and the product is equally impressive.
