Challenges Entered: "Ooo, Shiny!" - A Goldwork Embroidery Challenge

Project: Maunche Medallion

This is my first attempt at Or Nue. I decided to try to a Maunche medallion on linen.

Supplies:

• Gold couching thread

• Gold passing thread

• Purple filament silk.

Things learned:

• Its difficult to achieve even coverage with the silk even with magnification.

• Pencil sketch lines on the linen faded during my work on the project making it difficult to determine when to switch threads.

I think my next attempt will be with parallel couching lines instead of circular and with a more permanent marking lines.

Oooo, shiny! I attempted goldwork (well, technically silverwork) medallions too, but I haven't tried Or Nue yet. You did a fabulous job! Thank you for sharing!

This is great, especially as your first attempt! I love seeing all the different ways folks can come up with to create order medallions.
