Challenges Entered: Documentation Challenge, Embellish It
Project: Creating a Dress from 1066
Introduction:
While reading Dress in Anglo-Saxon England by Gale R. Owen-Crocker, I came across a pattern in the appendix. The pattern captured my imagination and I decided to follow it and try it out. My goals were to create a new Saxon dress to add to my kit, as well as try out something new.

Project: Inkle Trim
I wove inkle trim of my own design to embellish a 10th century peplos I had hand sewn. I used 20/2 silk thread in grey, purple, and rust to off set the dark blue of the peplos. I designed the pattern for the trim using the Caroliginia Realm pattern generator online.
