Challenges Entered: The Planning Stages, Woven Images
Project: Tapestry Weaving
I wish I could say that I had a finished piece to show for this challenge however this project has truly been about the journey, and not the destination.
During the trip, I learned about some of the archaeological finds of early tapestries (pre 1200), as well as construction techniques both ancient and modern. Each of the pieces I worked on throughout the challenge became a small sampler of sorts.
The images below these samples, along with a few of the designs I experimented with. Much was learned along the way, many threads were woven (and un-woven,) and more will be learned in the future.

Wow, such an awesome project, and love seeing your process and inspirations! The samples are great, & I love that Forester's Horn...it came out beautifully!

What a great project. I love seeing sampling. The learning process is so much of the journey. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Your samples came out wonderfully! You have great tension and your use of techniques is lovely. It is incredibly hard to weave discernable shapes in tapestry and you did it! I don't see nearly enough tapestry weaving in the SCA and I look forward to seeing your progress!
