"Consider how you want to enjoy your trip and then pack pieces that support that vision"
Packing is usually the unpleasing part of travel, often left until the last minute, as you toss things into your suitcase after midnight while considering all your “what if” scenarios. According to the Japanese best-seller and Netflix star tidying master Marie Kondo, your excess baggage can weigh you down both literally and figuratively. Here are some tips adapted from her organising method that may help you packing for vacation:
The bigger your suitcase is, the more you will put into it. Review your itinerary and upgrade to a suitcase that is appropriate for your trip.
Get rid of the “just in case I need it” and non-essentials and keep only those items that “spark joy” and will bring you happiness.
Think tetris: compartmentalize your suitcase, roll and fold your clothes, keep your outfits and objects ordered in smaller bags.
Keep ten per cent of your luggage empty to fill with new treasures.
