COURSE STRUCTURE
Students will complete 12 semester units over the course of the year (6 per semester), with each unit comprising 5 periods per week.
Students must, however, select the minimum requirements from the core faculties of English, Maths, Science, Humanities and PE (as per the table below). In addition to their core subjects, they will be able to select elective units.
CORE requirements
English - minimum 2 units across Semester 1 & 2 (either English or EAL)
Maths - minimum 2 units across Semester 1 & 2
Humanities - minimum 1 unit of either Geography or History (either semester)
Science - minimum 1 unit (either semester)
PE - minimum 1 unit (either semester)
All other units may be selected from our range of available electives. Subject descriptions can be accessed via the sidebar on this page.
MATHEMATICS IN YEAR 10
All students are required to study Maths for semester 1 and 2. Students who have completed Year 9 ELMS Maths should select 11 Maths Methods Unit 1 and 2 during the enhancement process.
All other year 10 students must select a Maths from one of the following

VCE ENHANCEMENT

Year 10 Students have the opportunity to undertake a Unit 1/2 study as enhancement. To be considered, students must demonstrate the following criteria consistently:
1. Predominantly "always" on progress reports. This includes a minimum of 6 of 8 "Always" under the criteria of "Works Effectively".
2. Very good average in English
3. Excellent average in other relevant subjects

VCE BACCALAUREATE

The VCE Baccalaureate is an additional form of recognition for students who successfully meet the demands of studying a higher-level mathematics subject and a language in their VCE program.
To be eligible to receive the VCE Baccalaureate students must satisfactorily complete the VCE and receive a study score for each prescribed study component.
