VCE ENHANCEMENT
Year 10 Students have the opportunity to undertake a Unit 1/2 study as enhancement and Year 11 Students have the opportunity to undertake a Unit 3/4 study as enhancement.
For Year 10s, this means completing a VCE Unit 1 and 2 study; for Year 11s, this means completing a VCE Unit 3 and 4 study.
Please note, some Unit 3 and 4 subjects have a prerequisite of the Units 1 and 2 study, and all options are subject to availability.
To be considered, students must demonstrate excellence in academic achievement and commitment to their studies with excellent work habits. Students who were enhanced in current year must show the aptitude and readiness to undertake the challenge in in the following year.
Some students who have completed Year 10 ELMS may apply to undertake two Units 3 & 4 studies in Year 11 (such as Units 3 & 4 Mathematical Methods and/or Units 3 & 4 Biology, or an alternative Units 3 & 4 study). Students considering this option should consult with the Head of Senior School; decisions about undertaking two Year 12 studies in Year 11 will be made on a case-by-case basis.
It remains the prerogative of the College to offer a position in this enhancement program to a student after appropriate consultation processes have been conducted. Minimum levels of academic achievement and appropriate study habits will be of consideration.
Students planning to undertake a Units 3 & 4 study outside the College (such as a language, dance, etc) must advise the Student Management team prior to their MIPs interview. This is taken into consideration when planning a students' timetable and will also be considered when determining whether to offer the student a place in a Unit 3 & 4 study within the College in Year 11 (due to workload demands).
If there is room and the candidate is considered suitable, the student may be invited to undertake an enhancement subject.
