WIN- Marion

• The Lady Pats handled those opening night nerves en route to a 25-14, 25-14 straight sets win over the Lady Wilcats.
• Junior Brooke Stepter led all Patriots picking up 15 digs as well as 8 service points.
• Bailey Cissell was productive on the front-line notching a team-high 6 kills. Cissell also contributed 10 digs.
• Opposite Alayna Reed recorded 4 kills on a perfect 4/4 hitting.

• In a highly contested, back and forth slugfest, our Lady Pats came out victorious in a 3-set dual with the Lions of Edwards County 17-25, 25-19, 25-13.
• Ellie Weber's 19 service points helped fuel the win. Ellie served up Massac's first 11 points to begin the set 3.
• Bailey Cissell led all players with 14 kills.
• Becca Jackson contributed 4 block points in the match.
• Brooke Stepter led the defensive picking up a team-high 29 digs.

WIN- Herrin

• In the Lady Pats conference opener, Massac was able to defeat the Tigers 25-19, 25-23.
• Ellie Weber led all Patriots tallying 9 service points.
• Bailey Cissell and Brooke Stepter combined to record 21 digs. Presley Ginger added 9 digs as well.
• Bailey Duckworth and Ellie Weber combined for 26 assists in the win.
• Emily Griffith and Becca Jackson were tough to stop in the middle combining for 10 kills with only 1 error.

WIN- West Frankfort

• On the road, Massac County cruised to a 2-set win 25-16, 25-8 against the Redbirds.
• Jessie Lewis recorded a team-high 11 kills on 14 attacks.
• Middle Hitter Emily Griffith scored 5 kills in the match.
• Serving tough was libero Brooke Stepter who tallied 6 aces while also picking up 11 digs.
• Ellie Weber led in assists tossing out 12 on the night.

WIN- Carterville

• In a cross-conference rivalry with the Lady Lions, Massac County used a great team effort to win 25-14, 25-20.
• Aubrey Biggers and Jessie Lewis combined for 14 kills with Emily Griffith adding 3 kills.
• Bailey Cissell, Biggers, and Brooke Stepter each pitched-in with at least 6 digs.
• Stepter and Ellie Weber combined for 26 service points.
• Griffith, Becca Jackson, and Cali McCraw protected the net combining for 9 blocks.

CROSSROADS CLASSIC at EFFINGHAM 3rd PLACE- Bronze Division

LOSS- St. Pius X, MO 21-25, 14-25

• St. Pius X (4th Place Gold Division) was the 2016 State Champions in Missouri.

LOSS- Moline 19-25, 16-25

• Moline, Il (5th Place Silver Division) has a school enrollment of 2100 students.

WIN- Owensboro Catholic 25-19, 10-25, 15-13

LOSS- Windsor/Stew-Stras 19-25, 22-25

• WSS (1st Place Bronze Division) finished 3rd place in the 2016 1A State Championship.

WIN- Illiana Christian 25-22, 25-16

• In an amazing weekend of volleyball, the Lady Pats slowly adjusted to the faster tempo of the game finishing with a 2-3 match record during the 24-team invitational.

• Offensively, senior Aubrey Biggers and sophomore Jessie Lewis combined for 20 kills.
• Defensively, Biggers and Brooke Stepter combined for 28 digs.
• Ellie Weber tossed out a game-high 17 assists to go with 7 service points.
• Presley Ginger was also tough from the service line scoring 11 points on 13 serves.

WIN- Benton

• With half the conference slate complete, the Lady Pats sit atop the River-to-River Ohio division with a perfect 5-0 record after defeating the Benton Rangerettes 25-11, 25-20.

• In a best 3 out of 5 event, the Lady Pats needed no "extra innings" to get the outcome decided winning 25-21, 26-24, 29-27.
• With one starting setter out sick, Bailey Duckworth took over the setting duties and proceeded to break the school record for assists tossing out an all-time-best 39 assists!
• Brooke Stepter led all Patriots picking up 28 digs. Bailey Cissell also added 22 digs as well.
• Offensively, Aubrey Biggers and Jessie Lewis combined for 25 kills.
• Blocking at the net was also key in the win with Emily Griffith and Becca Jackson each recording at least 5 stuff blocks.

LOSS- Murphysboro

• In another epic 3-set thriller, the Murphysboro RedDevils were able to produce a 4-point run at the end to finalize their 25-15, 23-25, 25-22 win.

• In a tough road loss to a powerful group of Lady Bulldogs, the Lady Pats dropped the 3-set match 19-25, 25-23, 12-25.
• Statistically, Jessie Lewis recorded a team-high 16 kills.
• Brooke Stepter and Bailey Cissell combined to pick up 37 digs.
• Ellie Weber and Stepter combined to score 23 points and 9 aces.
• Weber also tossed out a game-high 21 assists.

WIN- Benton

• Coming off a two-match losing skid, the Lady Pats found their winning ways making quick work of the visiting Rangerettes 25-19, 25-11.
• Junior Libero, Brooke Stepter set a new SCHOOL RECORD in the match serving up 10 ACES on a perfect 21/21 serving.
• Offensively, Jessie Lewis and Aubrey Bigger combined for 15 kills
• Dig leaders include Stepter (18), Bailey Cissell (16), and Biggers (11).
• Becca Jackson, Emily Griffith, and Lewis combined to amass 12 total blocks in the match.
• Ellie Weber led all players with 14 assists on 33 total sets.

WIN- West Frankfort

• Massac County used some tough serving to cruise to a straight sets win defeating the Lady Redbirds 25-7, 25-13.
• In the match, seniors Ellie Weber and Bailey Cissell each contributed 5 aces. Bailey Duckworth (3) and Presley Ginger (2) also picked up aces.
• Duckworth and Weber led the offensive attack combining for 22 assists.
• Kill leaders for the Lady Patriots included Aubrey Biggers (9), Jessie Lewis (4), Becca Jackson (3), Bailey Cissell (3), and Alayna Reed (2).
• Defensively, Brooke Stepter, Biggers, and Cissell each recorded 6 digs.

WIN- Anna-Jonesboro

• In a Cross-Conference match-up with the Lady Wildcats, our Lady Pats left little doubt winning 25-9, 25-16.

• For the 2nd year in a row and the 4th in the last five years, the Massac County Lady Patriots are Class 3A Regional Champions defeating the Marion Lady Wildcats in a come-from-behind, 3-set thriller 19-25, 25-21, 25-22.

• Senior middle hitter Emily Griffith was awesome on the front line throwing down 6 kills to go with a career high 10 blocks.
• Outside hitters Aubrey Biggers and Bailey Cissell combined for 19 kills.
• Defensively, Brooke Stepter accumulated 32 digs. Bailey Duckworth chipped in with 11 digs.
• Ellie Weber filled up the stat sheet recording 22 assists, 2 aces, 12 digs, and 6 kills.

LOSS- Breese Mater Dei- Sectional Semi-final at Benton

• The Lady Pats got off to a slow start, and although the defense picked up in the 2nd set, it wasn't enough to upset Breese Mater Dei.
• Offensively, senior captain Aubrey Biggers was strong connecting on 9 kills. Bailey Cissell also recorded 3 kills.
• Ellie Weber led in assists totaling 12.
• Defensively, Brooke Stepter (12), Bailey Cissell (11), and Ellie Weber (8) led in digs.
• Becca Jackson scored the only block point for the Pats.
